VBS 2017: Digging for Treasure

We are on the eve of getting ready to decorate for VBS and I'm so excited to see how God puts it all together!  Here is the last piece of decoration that was completed today, so now we are ready!

As we get ready to decorate and get VBS under way, I would like to take a moment and celebrate the memory of Connie Carbone.  She passed away this week, she was absolutely a person I admired and was always in awe of her decorating and crafty skills she did for the Lord. Praying for those who are left here on earth that will miss her presence but also celebrating for Connie as she is with the Lord and has a new 2.0 body!

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.  2 Corinthians 4:7

Arrows

So pleased at how the arrows turned out! As I was cross stitching these arrows I remember hearing this saying "You can not walk a straight line without a fixed point to follow." and also my other favorite "Don't look back you're not going that way".

I know my fixed point is heaven and doing my best with God's direction to walk the straight line.  Sometime that  line is a little crooked or has a dip but God's love and grace covers me because He died on the cross to cover our sins.  I try not to dwell on the past too much as I can't change it.  I can learn from it and take those experiences with me as to not get caught up in those snares again.

In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.  Proverbs 3:6

Vacation Bible School 2017

I'm super excited to be part of the VBS (Vacation Bible School) at church!  Here is a sneak peak of some of the things that are being prepared.  The theme is "Digging for Treasure".  So excited to see how the Lord prepares us for this event and how it is all put together.  I haven't been able to help with VBS until this year and am so blessed to be part of a team that is doing the decorations and crafts.  I'm also able to attend and see all the kids learn about Jesus and how He is the most treasured thing we can have in this life!

2017 Women's Retreat

My flesh and my heart fail; but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26

So blessed the Lord is so gracious and merciful and loves us so much to meet us where we are at sin and all!! Jesus died on the cross so we may have everlasting life!  God chooses us, justifies us, is our deliver/defender, and helps us.

The retreat was such a blessing!  The weather was nice and sunny.  The teachings and fellowship with all the ladies was so wonderful. I was truly blessed.

Anchor

The past couple of years anchors have fascinated me and the saying "hold fast".

The definition of an anchor is something that serves to hold an object firmly and the term hold fast is originates from the Norwegian and Dutch means to hold tight.

This reminds me of the bible verse Hebrews 6:19: This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the presence behind the veil.

In my life, I need an anchor. God's word is my anchor as it never returns void and won't fail me.  As I walk through this life, I will "hold fast" to His words as it will see me through the highs and lows.

It is well with my soul.

Excited and Can't Wait

This is the last weekend to get all the decorations buttoned up for the Women's Retreat!  I'm so excited to get there and see how God puts everything together!  This time of year is so amazing, us women get together for a weekend to fellowship and hear what the Lord has to say to us. We make new friends and get to hang out with the ones that we don't get to see all the time.

I always come back refreshed, more focused on my relationship with God, and encouraged to keep going through all the ups and downs life dishes out!  And just think, I was so afraid to go to the Women's retreat all those years ago, now I can't wait to go! :)

Here is a glimpse of a the decoration theme for this year.  I so want to post all the decorations and all that I have been working on for the retreat but don't want to ruin it for the ladies who may be going and read this beforehand.

Once I get back, will post it all and the inspiring things that happened!  Praying everyone has a safe trip to the retreat and return home to our families.

Adventure in Staining Wood

I would have never thought staining wood would be so inspiring!! As I started staining the wood, it became alive and the lines and knot holes became more prominent and so beautiful.

This reminded me of what I looked like before I accepted Jesus, my life was lifeless and dull and now I'm quenched with Jesus's love and he guides me through the paths in my life and comforts me when I hit those "knot holes".

Once you stand back and look at the whole picture it is beautiful masterpiece knot holes and all!!
