Catch Up Time!!

I looked at my last post and thought so much has happened since then and I haven't posted a single thing!  It is funny how life has it's seasons of extreme overload and then evens out until the next big wave.

So I feel like it is time to catch up on what I have been up to and it is the following:

* Remodeled our master bath

*Painted and reorganized my husband's hobby room

*Women's Fall Luncheon

*Made Fall Decorations for the Church

*Made a Fall Cross Stitch piece for my desk at work

*Made a Halloween Cross Stitch piece.  I felt so bad, I had to leave her with one eye for a week! LOL

Whew.....catching my breath and now moving onto Christmas cross stitching!!

Until next time! :)

Which House Would You Be In?

The Harry Potter audio books kept me very entertained on my way to work.  At the time of listening to the books, I was in the car for about two and half hours each day.

So once I saw the cross stitch pattern of the Hogwarts house crests I HAD to cross stitch them!!

Which house would you be in?

Gryffindor - The house of the brave, loyal, courageous, adventurous, daring, and chivalrous
Hufflepuff - The house of values, hard work, dedication, fair play, patience, and loyalty
Ravenclaw - The house of wisdom, intelligence, creativity, cleverness, and knowledge
Slytherin - The house of cunning, prideful, resourceful, ambitious, intelligent, and determined

In my craft room I have a some Harry Potter items that sits on my filing cabinet courtesy of my husband!  I love that he gets me these specialty gifts for different occasions. I have the sorting hat, butter beer, feathered pen and inkwell, and a couple of figures of Ron Weasley.

So which house would you be in?  I lean towards Hufflepuff.  For a couple of reasons, one I  loved in the book when the sorting hat was placed the girls head it yelled our "Hufflepuff" without hesitation, also I like the name for some reason, and finally if you read the description of the house it does sound like me!

World of Warcraft Birthday Party

I would like to say Happy Birthday to my wonderful husband who I absolutely love to pieces. <3  He has the best sense of humor and is constantly making me laugh! I am Sally from the Peanuts cartoon, when I see him or think about him I have invisible hearts pop off of me.

Happy Birthday my love and praying we get to spend many many more together!

We had a World of Warcraft (WOW) theme birthday party! My husband and his friends like to come over and play the came together.  I thought it would be nice to decorate for the party and use my crafting skills!  It is rare that I decorate for our house as I'm usually decorating for our church or other events.

I would declare the party a success as there was tons of laughter, food, nerf guns, and cake!

Independence Day Decorations 2017

Decorated the church today for 4th of July (Independence Day).  These wreaths were so much fun to make!  They are 24 inch wreath frame with tons and tons of mesh!  I used the "curling method"and I'm thinking about making a tutorial on how to make these!

As we celebrate the 4th of July, I just would like to take a moment to say how blessed I am to be an American and have the freedoms and rights I have as a woman and as a human being.  People in other countries do not have these luxaries and it is so easy to forget that.

The older I get the more I appreciate the words to the Pledge of Allegiance and the Star Spangled Banner that we were made to memorize in school!

Happy 241st Birthday!! July 4, 1776 is the day United States laid down the claim to be free and independent nation.

VBS 2017 Crafts

Corinne and I also teamed up to do the crafts for VBS.  I had this vision that I would have tons of cool pictures and would be able to capture all the craft days for the blog.  But truth to be told, I was so busy having fun with the kids that I forgot half the time to take the pictures!  I think it is a toss up if the kid had more fun than me at VBS.  I was truly blessed to see these kids learn about Jesus and hear them recite the stories/verses of the bible. Maybe next year, I will have someone take pictures for me! :)

Day 1: Jesus Speaks in Parables

Craft: Digging for Treasure Prayer Journal with decoder wheel.  Some days we had them decode a message  that went along with the crafts.

Day 2: The Sower Sows the word

Craft: Decorating the "face cup" then planted some flowers.  So when the flowers grow it looks like hair!

Day 3: Mustard Seed the smallest of seeds but produces the biggest trees with branches.

Craft:  Created a mustard seed necklace.

Day 4: Lost Sheep -  There is much rejoicing when a sinner repents.

Crafts:  Created a sheep puppet.

Here is the room we held the craft classes, I loved going there for those 4 days and getting to know the kids and have them excited to come and craft and hear them say "What are we doing today?".  I also had the opportunity to meet Angela who was with me and together we taught the crafts and helped the kids understand the parables and how to put the crafts together.

We had 3 classes we taught each day.  These are the feet of each class.  These little feet are our future and it is our responsibility to plant the seed of Jesus and let God do the rest.

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6

VBS 2017 Decorations

I'm so blessed and thankful that I was able to help with the church VBS this year!  I had the opportunity to team up with Corinne Akers to create the decorations.  The theme for this year was "Digging for Treasure".
